For ninth grade she went to the public school at Hampton. For these trips to town she remembers the neighbor boy that drove a model T with four kids in the car. One girl had to ride a horse four miles to get to the pastor's house where they met to get a ride to school. Another boy rode his bike two miles every morning. Then for her junior and senior grades she drove a 1931 black Chevy with yellow wire wheels that even today brings a smile to her face when she talks about it.
